A Harsh Journey « Thread Started on Nov 21, 2007, 5:19pm »
Joren walked along the deserted Route 1 of Anera region, not a living soul going past him. Trodding behind him happily was Pyro, the Charmander he received from Professor Onyx. The little creature seemed eager for adventure, its tail flame glowing rejuvenatingly. Every now and again, it would say, "Char, char", marvelling at the empty, but beautiful landscape. As a Pokémon trainer, Joren was obliged to take the Gym challenge, and he was right now on his way to the first Gym, in the city of Izuka. He wanted to, however, practice with Pyro for a little, before he challenged the Gym Leader. He hoped therefore, that he might encounter some rare wild Pokémon, not only to practice on, but catch, perhaps, too.

Joren's hopes of catching a wild pokemon seemed to heighten as a small green critter walts his way down the route's trail, with his head held high and something in his hand...
Event!
A wild Kecleon appeared! Gender: Male Level: 7 Ability: Color Change [Changes it's type to the last damaging move's type that hit it] Attacks: Lick, Astonish, Bind, Faint Attack, Scratch, Tail Whip, Theif Personality: Mischevious and tricky Holding: Persim Berry
(Gosh Kecleon learns a lot of moves at level seven...)

Joren stopped dead in his tracks, as he spotted the green Pokémon, nearly invisible on the grassy background. "Alright, this is our first battle Pyro, go ahead!," Joren said, as his Charmander took a few steps forward, getting ready to attack the Kecleon. "Pyro, use Growl, followed up by Scratch!," Joren ordered, his Charmander running at the wild Pokémon.

The little green lizard-like pokemon made a sinister cackling sound as it noticed the charmander racing towards it, and allowed itself to be scratched right across the face by the charmander. While the red lizard was close, the Kecleon attacmpted to use a Lick attack on the fire-type.

Pyro was licked by the Kecleon, much to his own dismay. He wiped the Pokémon's suliva off his face, grimacing as he did so. "Hold on, Pyro," Joren said. "Use Scratch again!," he commanded, his Pokémon obeying without a word.

The kecleon attempted to dodge but failed, and was scratched by the charmander, but instead of wincing in pain he shouted "YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME, I;M THE GINGERBREAD MAN!" The kecleon grinned, as he disapeared into the darkness and reapeared behind Pyro, trying to shove the charmander. It might not have been obvious, but the kecleon was using a Faint Attack.

Pyro was hit by the attack, the Kecleon being to close to be dodged. Charmander fell forward, an evil sneer across his face. <Oh yeah?!> he shouted. <Well, eat this, gingerfreak!> Pyro screamed, as he raced towards the Kecleon, Growling as he did so, and finishing it off with a mighty Scratch.

"Twwwwwwo can play this gaaaame!" Murmered the kecleon as he jumped forward, and tried to scratch Pyro with his own set of claws, while being scratched himself.

Pyro dodged the Scratch, cunnily bending over, finding himself right underneath the Kecleon's striped belly. He then said, calmly <Oh, do shut up,> and swung his arm at the Pokémon's stomach in another Scratch attack.

The little kecleon muttered something under his breathe before being almost punched in the gut by the charmander. Angrily, the kecleon attempted an Astonish attack.

The Astonish attack hit Charmander square in the chest, making the Pokemon flinch. "Pyro, watch out!," Joren shouted, but his Charmander was unable to do anything.
